In accordance with Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines (16 CFR Part 255), this page details how Clowder operates commercially while distinguishing between partner links and uncompensated reference benchmarks.
1. Two Types of Links on Our Site
To maintain strict transparency, every external product link on Clowder belongs to one of two distinct categories:
Marked with the Partner Link label and coded with rel="sponsored noopener noreferrer". If you click a partner link and purchase a product on the merchant's portal, we may receive an affiliate referral commission at zero additional cost to you.
Marked with the Reference Benchmark label and coded with rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer". These products (such as the Litter-Robot 5 used as an architectural baseline) are included strictly for objective comparative balance. We do not earn any commission or financial benefit from these links.
2. Current Pre-Launch Prototype Notice
During the current local development phase, commercial tracking parameters have not been finalized. Outbound partner buttons are temporarily assigned placeholder designations (e.g. data-aff="...") and set with the aff-pending class until live affiliate programs are officially integrated.
3. Editorial Selection Policy
- Products are ordered strictly by their functional suitability for specific feline situations (e.g. multi-cat waste volume, large-breed open-top access), never by commission rate.
- Manufacturers cannot pay to change specification tables, remove negative consumer feedback, or purchase top placement.
- We do not test products ourselves; all comparative data is compiled from manufacturer published datasheets and publicly available owner reviews.
